Welcome from Mr Fiddimore - Director of Post 16

I am delighted to present our Sixth Form to you in this section. The Brunts Academy Sixth Form is a high-performing, academic institution which offers an excellent preparation to our students to enable them to progress on to their chosen destination. As the Assistant Headteacher responsible for Sixth Form, I am so proud of our results, both in terms of academic achievement and the destinations secured.

In fact, our parents agree; in a large recent survey amongst parents of our Sixth Form students, 100% agree that their child makes good progress at Brunts Sixth Form and is well looked after here. I'm sure you will agree that this is a very positive endorsement indeed!

You can browse through the course videos in these pages and access detailed information about the courses we offer. There is also information about the support and guidance we provide to our students to help them achieve their potential and develop the skills needed to succeed (and enjoy life!). You can even make an application online, but don't delay as our places are in great demand!

I hope you enjoy reading all about us!

Sixth Form Success!

Individual Celebrations for a wide range of destinations

Students and staff at The Brunts Academy are rejoicing after receiving their A-Level grades for 2023.

•Alicia Kirk, who is celebrating an A*in Maths and A grades in both Biology and Chemistry, will progress to study medicine at the University of Sheffield

•Over 98.5% pass rate for A levels and BTECs

A testament to the hard work and resilience of pupils over the last two years, the Academy is delighted to see all leavers heading onto their next steps with university, apprenticeships or employment from September.

While all pupils have done incredibly well, some standout individual achievements include:

•Alex Beeley obtained 3 A*s in Computing, Maths and Physics and has secured his place to study computer science with AI at the University of Nottingham

    Employment examples include

Daniel March secured strong A level results and has secured an apprenticeship at The Coal Authority

Tom Harby is delighted with his new role of working at Experian in IT support

•All students went on to their chosen destinations

Rachel Sutcliffe, Principal at The Brunts Academy, said:

“I am extremely proud of our students’ successes and how hard staff have worked to ensure future student destinations are secured. Despite the obvious challenges this year group have faced over the last few years, they have done remarkably well and we wish them every success for the future”

Martin Fiddimore, Director of Post-16 at The Brunts Academy, said:

“There has been much anticipation for these results with many reports on changes to the A Level grading following the pandemic. It is fantastic to know that the hard work of staff and students has paid off and we wish all our students the very best as they embark on the next stage of their lives”
