Child Protection (to safeguard and promote the welfare of children)

Our academy policies apply to all staff, Trustees and volunteers working at the academy and takes into account statutory guidance provided by the Department for Education and local guidance issued by the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board.

We will ensure that all parents/carers are made aware of our responsibilities with regard to child protection procedures in each academy and how we will safeguard and promote the welfare of their children through the publication of the academy’s safeguarding and child protection policies.

These duties and responsibilities, as set out within the Education Act 2002 sec 175 and 157 and the DfE Statutory Guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019, are incorporated into these policies and are internally and externally quality assured.

The recruitment of staff to our organisation follows all safer recruitment procedures - including the necessary rigorous and robust checks on appointment.

Annual training and induction training is carried out and external safeguarding inspections are regularly instigated by the Trust to ensure the highest possible standards are in place.

Please refer to the our policies page to read our full safeguarding policy.
